TWD: Lemon Loaf Cake

Here go my two versions of Lemon Loaf Cake!

I'm going to start with the pretiest one, because the other was a way of being creative with a strange turnout. First of all: mmmmm! This is a great recipe to use from the most simple ocasions to a elaborate afternoon gathering with friends or family.

I have always been one for little baked presents when going to someone else's house. I think when you bake something, you bake it with love, and by giving that something to friends, family or strangers you get to show and share that love with others.

So for the first Lemon Loaf Cake, I used poppy seeds and marshmallow fluff on top to make it just a little bit sweeter, right? I would have made a simple sugary icing, but I found the marshmallow fluff and couldnt risist.

The other creative and (in my opinion) not so good idea, was to make green tea icing. OK, so it tastes GREAT, but I was in kind of a hurry and couldn't wait for the loaf to cool down... so... It became a little green desaster.... I will definitely try the icing again, but only because I bought green tea powder that's quite hard finding in Spain and NEED to use it. Any ideas?

After my little piece of lemon loaf cake with marsmallow fluff I will be getting back to my college books. Wish me luck!   Find the recipes here: Treats and The Beauty of Life.

Enjoy!

  3. Interesting ideas - I like the thought of green tea icing.
If you used matcha powder (green tea), it's great in a base for ice cream or macarons...
